We’re establishing a presence in Sweden, deepening our focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and accelerating our Nordic platform for bank connectivity and financial automation.

Why this matters

For years, Aritma has helped finance teams cut manual work, speed up reconciliation, and make payments safer. No matter the bank or ERP. By acquiring Programekonomi, we’re taking a clear next step.

Programekonomi created Swebase, one of Sweden’s most widely used extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It adds critical, Sweden‑specific capabilities – such as payments handling and document flows – exactly where Business Central users need them.

This aligns with Aritma’s core: seamless bank connectivity, payments, and reconciliation in the cloud.

“With the acquisition of Programekonomi, Aritma takes an important step towards a strong position in Sweden as part of our international ambitions. Their deep expertise in the Microsoft ERP ecosystem, combined with the Aritma platform, gives us a unique, end‑to‑end proposition.”
— Thor Kristian Seth, CEO, Aritma

What this means for Business Central customers

Short version: more value, delivered faster.

1. Swedish localisation built in. Swebase delivers essential functions for Swedish businesses – from bank file management and SIE integration to document control and compliance.

2. Bank connectivity that just works. Aritma connects bank and ledger in near real time, so payments, statements, and reconciliation flow automatically into Business Central.

3. Quicker time‑to‑value. One combined team and roadmap means faster enhancements and local additions across the Nordics.

A strategic lift: backed by Main Capital Partners

This is Aritma’s first acquisition since Main Capital Partners joined as an investor in April 2025. The aim is simple: build the leading Nordic platform for financial automation in the corporate market.

“With Programekonomi, Aritma gains a team of domain experts alongside the widely adopted Swebase solution. This strengthens the group’s ability to deliver leading solutions for bank integration and financial automation.”
— Wessel Ploegmakers, Partner & Head of Nordics, Main Capital Partners

From Växjö to the Nordics

Founded in 1996 in Växjö, Programekonomi has spent nearly three decades improving finance processes for Swedish companies running Business Central.

“We’ve long looked for a partner who shares our vision to set a new standard for bank solutions in Business Central. When we met Aritma, we quickly knew it was the right fit. We complement each other and become stronger together.

What we’re actually building

  • A unified Nordic direction for Business Central — combining bank integration, payments, reconciliation, and document flow in one platform, with enhanced automation and precise localisation.
  • A smoother partner experience. Simpler onboarding, support, and updates – closer to Business Central partners and customers.
  • A higher pace of innovation. Combined product capacity means faster roll‑outs across markets.

Who benefits most?

  • Businesses in Sweden and the wider Nordics using Business Central who want less manual effort and more control.
  • Accounting firms and consultancies seeking to standardise workflows across clients – with fewer integrations to maintain.
  • Bank and ERP partners who want to deliver clearer value without heavy bespoke setups.

What does this mean for existing Swebase users and what's next?

Even though it's a significant change for both the Aritma and Programekonomi teams to join forces, for current Swebase users and partners, it’s business as usual and day-to-day remains the same.

Same team, same focus. What’s new is the extra strenght gained to accelerate development, especially around banking solutions.

So, what happens next?

We’re kicking off our team – and product integration to maximize synergies and joint product planning. We will publish an updated roadmap for the Business Central ecosystem where partners and customers in Sweden can expect smoother bank-to-ledger flows and a tighter interplay between Swebase and the Aritma platform.
