From day one you’ll take on real responsibility. Apply now for Aritma’s 2026 trainee intake.

Looking for New Talent

Aritma is entering a new chapter. With a new majority owner and growth partner, the company has raised its ambitions and is now looking beyond Norway’s borders. As the pace of growth accelerates, the need for young professionals who understand both technology and business has never been greater.

“If you want to help shape the future of fintech – and actually take on responsibility from day one – this is the place for you,” says Thor Kristian Seth, CEO at Aritma.

Not Your Typical Trainee Programme

And Aritma has no intention of offering one.

Instead of coffee runs and endless slide decks, trainees are trusted with real projects, genuine responsibility, and the chance to learn fast. The Aritma Fintech Trainee Programme is designed for graduates who want to grow quickly and thrive when things move at speed.

Applications are now open for the 2026 intake, with a deadline of 30 September 2025.

What the Programme Offers

You’ll be employed for one year, based in Bergen, and rotate across different departments; from tech and customer success to commercial operations. Along the way, you’ll have a mentor, work directly with clients and products, and gain experience that often takes years to build.

“The programme gives you a 360-degree understanding of the company,” Seth explains. “It equips you for exciting roles afterwards – and every one of our former trainees has gone on to do exactly that.”

Meet This Year’s Fintech Trainees: Truls and Karsten Andre

This autumn, Aritma welcomed its fourth cohort of fintech trainees. What stands out when talking to them is a common theme: a steep but rewarding learning curve, real responsibility from day one, and a workplace culture that makes people want to give their best.

Finding the spark in fintech

24-year-old Truls Birkeland from Haugesund saw the trainee role advertised and instantly recognised the fit:

“The job ad felt almost tailor-made for me,” he says. Starting out in Customer Operations, he’s already working directly with clients, focusing on product knowledge and customer support.

What impressed him most is the atmosphere of the people around him:

“People here are genuinely passionate. When someone presents their work, you can see the spark in their eyes. Everyone truly believes in what we’re building. That kind of enthusiasm is contagious.

Discovering how it all connects

With a fresh master’s degree in financial economics from NTNU, Karsten Andre Haugland joined the same department. He spends his days onboarding new clients and navigating complex processes.

“It takes time to understand how everything fits together – and that’s what makes it fun,” he explains.

What he values most is the variety and teamwork:

“Engineers, architects, economists, salespeople, designers – everyone works side by side. We’re all under one roof, and people aren’t afraid to speak up or suggest improvements where they’re needed.”

And the best part?

The culture here is gold. Running, gaming, padel, ping pong – whatever you’re into, you’ll find people to do it with.”

From Trainee to Key Player

The programme isn’t just about one year – it’s a launchpad.

Three years ago, Ruben Skrede joined as a trainee. Today, he plays a central role in technical sales and leads major client projects.

“I got to be part of deliveries to large clients and help build commercial structures,” he recalls. “The learning curve was steep, but incredibly rewarding.”

He still uses his trainee experience daily:

“Whether in meetings, tackling technical challenges, or working on sales and client dialogue – the foundation was built during that year.”

What sets Aritma apart, according to Skrede, is the company culture: “People have drive here. There’s high energy, flat structure, short reporting lines, and room to seize opportunities. If you want to contribute, people will listen.”

Why Aritma Invests in Trainees

Aritma is scaling fast, and Thor Kristian Seth is clear about why the company continues to prioritise its trainee programme.

“People are the heart of Aritma. We need talented individuals who are hungry, curious, and ready to build something,” he says.

For him, the programme is about far more than filling a year – but also about shaping future key players.

“In this programme, you’re thrown straight into the action. Not alone – but with ownership. It’s a unique opportunity to influence both the company’s direction and your own career.”

That approach has already proven successful. Previous trainees have moved on to roles in sales, product, and client management. According to Seth, what they all share is the ability to step up – and the space Aritma gave them to do so.

So, what kind of people thrive here? Seth is clear:

They’ve got ambition, but also team spirit. They ask questions, take initiative – and get things done.
